Skiing, Downhill 1:00:00 [1]

The boys and I spent the weekend with aunts, uncles, cousins and a mormor at Canaan Valley, WV. Today we were at Canaan Ski Resort. I was on the slopes for about 4.5 hours and would have stayed longer but the snow was very slushy and slow. They haven't gotten much snow over the last week or so, and it was 55 degrees today.

Cycling (Trainer) 1:16:06 [3] 25.0 mi (19.7 mph)

This was the first part of my first brick of the training season. I've foolishly signed up for a triathlon this summer, so I have to start incorporating some of the tri training into my routine. (Truth be told, *I* didn't sign up for the tri; my training partner signed me up and then told me we were doing it.) My transition time today left much to be desired, but I have time to work on that.

Running (Road) 19:21 [3] 2.0 mi (9:40 / mi)

Yes, I know, it was just 2 miles, but it was enough to bring back the memories of what my legs feel like after hopping off a bike and heading out on the road. Hmmm....jello-y.

Running (Road) 47:48 [3] 5.0 mi (9:34 / mi)

I was desperately trying to get to PWF today for an orienteering run, but it was not to be. So, just ran through the neighborhood, with some pick-ups in the middle (20 mins easy; 6 x 20s fast/60s easy; finish easy). It was quite cold and windy, but bright sunshine.

Swimming 45:00 [2] 2.4 km (18:45 / km)

I has some errands to run around town in the evening, and as I drove by the community center, I heard the pool calling out to me. So I stopped by for a little workout. It felt really nice. I can finally see that I'm getting faster (in a *very* relative sense).
4x100 (swim, kick, swim, buoy)
3x100 kick (25 easy/25 fast)
200 drill
1500 swim

Running (Road) 39:10 [3] 4.0 mi (9:48 / mi)

Just ran my same little neighborhood loop before heading out to work. I went out with no jacket, hat or gloves since the sun was shining and it felt really nice. However, I didn't look to the northern skies before I left because if I had I would have seen a swiftly moving line of black clouds. By the time I was finished, the wind was blowing, it had started to rain and I was freezing. Oh well, nothing a nice hot shower couldn't fix.

Strength Training 55:00 [1]

Another long, crazy day at work. In early and out late. I decided that a weight workout was all I could handle for today.

Swimming 30:44 [2] 1.15 km (26:43 / km)

This is an easy week for me, so just went for 30 minutes in the pool.

3x200 (1)free (2)50kick/50free (3)50drill/50free
6x75 25free/25breast/25free
2x50 pull buoy

Running (Road) 39:39 [3] 4.0 mi (9:55 / mi)

An easy run through the neigborhood between conference calls. Everything felt fine.

Cycling (Trainer) 48:22 [2] 15.0 mi (18.6 mph)

Okay, I had absolutely no intention of biking two days in a row and every intention of going to the O-meet at Great Falls Park today. But when your son comes to you in tears and tells you he just remembered a science project that is due tomorrow and he hasn't even started it, you can become one of two types of moms. You can either tell him to suck it up and turn it in late and maybe he'll remember next time. Or, you can be an enabler and stay home so he can get it done. I was, of course, the latter. It turned out fine, though. I finished many of the nagging little chores that had been mocking me for weeks and Graham got his project done. So, after the boys went to bed, I hopped on the trainer for an easy session while watching "Grey's Anatomy." I wish Derek and Meredith would just get together already!
