Strength Training 35:34 [1]

This is all I could muster today.

Note

Today was a sad day for me. After working for MCI for 19 years, I saw the end of the company. Our "merger" with Verizon was made official today and every vestige of MCI was gone when I walked into work. I was surrounded by the Verizon corporate logo. Many of my close friends were also gone, having been told their positions were no longer needed post merger. I know this is the harsh reality of the corporate world, but sometimes it sucks.

Cycling (Trainer) 1:00:00 [2]

Decided to give my hamstring a rest so just did a session on the trainer. I rode in the morning, however, so my TV fare was the Today show. Nothing too exciting.

Running (Road) 1:00:16 [3]

I created a new running route through my neighborhood so I could go for an hour. I'm going to try to get in 1 hour of training a day (or at least 7 hours a week) so I don't drop too low on the AP training list. The only thing that hurt today was my hamstring. I almost felt I was limping at times. I don't think all of my skate-skiing helped my hamstring at all.

Note

Travel day home to Stafford. Luckily, it was much less eventful than my trip out.

Skiing, X-C 1:20:00 [1]

Last day on the Happy Jack trails and the beginning of my slow descent down the AP training list. :-( It was another beautiful day, although the wind did kick up a little towards the end. I tried some new loops today and was a little skeptical when the first one just kept going downhill! But the return trip wasn't that bad.

Cycling (Trainer) 30:00 [2]

Hopped on the trainer for a little ride after watching the Redskins clinch a playoff berth...the first time since 1999. All hail Coach Gibbs! Continued reading "Guns, Germs, and Steel."
