I think Dec. 26 might be my favorite day of the year. I feel so much more relaxed after weeks of stress over Christmas...getting everything ready, buying presents, putting up the tree, cooking, cooking, cooking. I'm thinking that next year, I might propose a family trip vs. Christmas at home. More and more folks I know are doing that, especially as their kids get older. It seems like a much more enjoyable way of spending the holidays.
And this year, I had the added stress of my unexpected trip to Norway (taking away so much Xmas prep time) and starting a new role in my new job, which quickly turned very stressful (the tear-inducing stress, at times).
So, this morning I'm heaving a big sigh of relief, planning the Xmas take-down (by Jan. 1, at the latest), and looking forward to getting back into my routines and starting back up with training. I must be in shape for this summer!
