A very slow set of loops around Wash Park. The park was packed, and there were several cops patrolling the crowds. And one cop with a radar gun, watching for cyclists going faster than the 15 mph speed limit. I behaved myself.
I went to Round Mt. today with Don and Mom to vet Day 1 controls. The courses were pretty good, just a few tweaks needed. It will be a little tricky. Don't get fooled into believing Round Mt. is just open, mindless running.
I went to a training session this morning for volunteering at a new Butterfly Pavilion at the Botanic Gardens at Chatfield, and decided to head over to Chatfield State Park afterwards to run the Red course from last weekend. After I checked out the level and swiftness of the river, however, I decided to just go for a trail run since the Red course had numerous river crossings...like 9 of them.
This run didn't go quite as well as I had hoped, but only because of the weather. It was mid-day, with temps in the low 80s, and I just wasn't acclimated to that heat. I had to throw in a few more walking sessions than I would have liked, but hey...I got it done.
I was going to go to yoga today, but about 40 minutes before class, I slipped down my stairs and did that extreme bending thing with my knee that makes me almost throw up from the pain. So, I thought it would be best not to go to yoga and just pamper my knee tonight. There's a barre class in the morning. I'll see how I feel for that one.
Ran a loop around Wash Park. This was more running than the last few times and less walking. It still felt fine.

This did not include the foam rolling I did. My right butt muscle has been tight for awhile now and every night I think, "I should really foam roll that muscle" and then I forget about it the next day. I finally remembered to do it.
My morning walk with Annie took a little longer today because I was trying to knock the heavy snow off any small trees that were bowed down to the ground. What happened to spring??!?
I've been busy the past few days working at the Plant Sale at the Denver Botanic Gardens. I volunteer there now, and the Plant Sale is a big fundraiser. And now, I wait for the pending snowstorm scheduled to arrive on Sunday, dumping a predicted 3" of snow. Lovely.
Spent the entire day working in the yard, which included making 4 trips to my neighbor's house (about a quarter of a mile away, uphill), each time loading/unloading and hauling a wheelbarrow with about 100 lbs. of rock in it. The last trip was the killer.
