Note

Guess what? That's right...still no power. But, I was the lucky one who got to clean out a totally defrosted and empty freezer and refrigerator. Yay!

Note

No power for the past 58 hours, but I now see power trucks in my neighborhood. There is hope!

Note

Still no power, but things to be grateful for anyway:

1. Gas water heater
2. Gas stove
3. Delightfully cool temps which require no AC
4. Contemplative evenings on the front stoop with a glass of fine wine

Hiking 1:09:30 [3] 3.92 mi (17:44 / mi) +180m 15:31 / mi

A hike around Jockey Hollow before the storm. A lot of folks in the woods, getting in their weekend workout since tomorrow is going to be a washout.

Hiking 45:00 intensity: (25:00 @2) + (20:00 @3)

I had an evening showing of my house, so I had to make myself scarce. I rushed home from work at 7:00, quickly changed, and hightailed it to Lewis Morris for a quick hike. I had the route that I wanted to do in my head, but once I got out there I thought I could go a little longer, so I did a last minute change. This change was longer than I remembered and pretty soon, it was getting darker and darker in the woods, under all of the trees. I wasn't so worried about the dark, but I didn't want to get back to my car, only to find a park police officer waiting for me. So, I started to run/walk which actually led to a pretty good workout, and it got me back in time so it wasn't full on dark and there was no constable waiting for me.

Unfortunately, my FR died about halfway through so I didn't get the distance. Maybe if I'm ambitious enough tonight, I'll measure on the map.

Cycling (Trainer) 30:00 [3] 7.0 mi (14.0 mph)

After working for 7 days straight, 12+ hour days, I was so looking forward to my one day off on Sunday, so I could go for a bike ride. Instead, we got 8" of rain, and I headed to the mall. So, after coming home today, I decided to resort to my trainer and had a good little session in the basement. And now it's off to bed to rest up for another 12+ hours tomorrow. Goddamn unions!

Cycling 1:27:20 [3]

I went for an exploration ride on the roads around Morristown. This really is a great town for cycling. Made it home just before the rains came in.
