Cycling 1:00:00 [3] 19.5 mi (19.5 mph)

On my trainer...what more can I say? Except that Caitlin is home for her first visit since leaving for VA Tech. She was very homesick and needed to come home to see her family. And we are so glad to have her back!!

Running 40:49 [3] 4.0 mi (10:12 / mi)

Went running at the Indy 500 (aka, my neighborhood streets when the high school kids are heading out). It was a beautiful morning otherwise, and I felt pretty good. I even kept up the pace when I hit a particularly troublesome hill in the middle of my route. A nice start to the day.

Wednesday Sep 28, 2005 #

Strength Training 50:00 [2]

Same old routine of light weights and many reps.

Monday Sep 26, 2005 #

Cycling 1:00:00 [3] 19.1 mi (19.1 mph)

Rain, rain, rain! We finally got some rain...although not much. Enough, though, to keep me off the roads and on my trainer. Which, truth be told, I actually don't mind doing on Monday nighrts because then I get to watch Monday Night Football. Yea!
Weekly weight loss: 1.5 lbs.

Orienteering 1:44:58 [3] *** 7.9 km (13:17 / km)

Ran an old orienteering course to get out on a map. It was very much fun.

Friday Sep 23, 2005 #

Running 40:00 [2]

Just a quick little trail run at the end of a very busy day.

Wednesday Sep 21, 2005 #

Strength Training 50:00 [2]

Another work out with light weights and many reps, plus a little cardio.

Sunday Sep 18, 2005 #

Orienteering race 1:07:06 [3] 5.4 km (12:26 / km)

Ran at a local NOD meet at Lake Accotink in Springfield, VA. It was a nice course, but basically a glorified trail race (which is not my strength). There were some interesting legs towards the end where things got a teensy bit more complex.

Tanner ran Orange and had some troubles matching up all of trails. Graham ran Yellow and did well except for one big mistake on #5.

Weekly Weight Loss: 1 lb.

Cycling 1:00:00 [3] 18.5 mi (18.5 mph)

Had planned on going for a ride today but there were too many other activities going on. So, hopped on my trainer tonight for an hour while watching "The Biggest Loser." Nice. I can't wait until tomorrow when everybody's Mega times get dropped from AP.

Toenail Polish Update: The sedate Blushed was getting very old and I was in the mood for a more autumnal color, so I went with 18K Ginza Gold, a nice mix of orange and gold. PG would love it.

Running 37:14 [2] 3.0 mi (12:25 / mi)

Horrible, horrible. I delayed running until noon, in the heat of the day with high humidity. This was supposed to be a 5 mile run, but after 1.5 miles I was hot and dizzy. I then realized I hadn't eaten anything since yesterday's lunch. So, all of this combined added up to a 3 mile run/walk. I have learned my lesson...make sure you eat before you run.

Running 31:27 [3] 3.0 mi (10:29 / mi)

The humidity this morning, caused by Hurricane Ophelia, was unbelievable. It felt like I was running through pea soup. Definitely made me feel more sluggish. Not the best of runs.

29:00 [2]

Went back to cardio class.

Strength Training 40:00 [2]

I love this weight training! I might becoming addicted to it.

Monday Sep 12, 2005 #

Cycling 1:00:00 [3] 18.5 mi (18.5 mph)

It was a bad day and then a good day. I was supposed to ride on the W&OD with StoraMoo tonight, but craziness at work kept me there too late. :-( But I came home to completed homework and dinner made, so I had some free time. I hopped on my trainer and rode for an hour while watching my second favorite team, the Falcons, put the beat down on Philadelphia on Monday Night Football (at least in the first half). What more could a girl ask for?

Orienteering 1:22:58 [3] *** 6.6 km (12:34 / km) +245m 10:36 / km

Local meet at Hemlock Overlook. A very nice course set by Jim Lingar. Had no major troubles except for one control where I left the trail early to contour around vs. going up and over, and just never contoured far enough around. Had to go to the top anyway to get my bearings and then went right into it. Otherwise, felt good running. Too many spider webs again!!
Week's weight loss: 2 lbs

Saturday Sep 10, 2005 #

Running 29:59 [3] 3.0 mi (10:00 / mi)

Took Graham to soccer practice and ran through the neighborhood near the field. Got some good ideas for my garden.

Strength Training 32:00 [2]

Just did upper body today. Too many errands to run today and not enought time.

Thursday Sep 8, 2005 #

Running 41:50 [3] 4.0 mi (10:28 / mi)

Just a quick run through the neighborhood in the morning. I need to get out a little earlier. I was running right when all of the high school kids were heading out and the roads were getting a little too busy. I guess it's time to break out the headlamp for some running in the dark.

Tuesday Sep 6, 2005 #

27:00 [2]

Taking a cardio class as a change of pace. Combining it with weights afterwards.

Strength Training 40:00 [2]

Sticking with the light weights, many reps.

Monday Sep 5, 2005 #

Running 30:47 [3] 3.0 mi (10:16 / mi)

This was a busy day getting the boys ready for school tomorrow. Was able to squeeze in a quick 3 mile run. It was a beautiful day...finally the humidity is going away.

Sunday Sep 4, 2005 #

Orienteering 1:31:34 [3] *** 6.5 km (14:05 / km)

Ran part of the Day 1 Red course from the 2002 US Champs in Prince William Park. Did a trail run from the finish to #8, then did the course backwards to #2. Found all the controls with relative ease, but wasn't going top speed. Did a trail run from #2 to the start because I was sick of running through spider webs. Yuck!
Weight loss for the week: 5 lbs. (mostly water)

Saturday Sep 3, 2005 #

Running 40:43 [3] 4.0 mi (10:11 / mi)

Dropped my truck off for an oil change and took advantage of the wait time by going for a run on a fairly hilly route. It felt very nice.

Toenail polish update: Time to take off Pooltime Lime as summer is coming to an end. Changed to a more sedate Blushed.

Strength Training 49:00 [2]

Used light weights with many reps.

Swimming 46:00 [3]

First time back in the pool for many months. Didn't do much distance (1200 m), but it felt good. I'll build back up to 2000m at a time.

300 choice swim - 300 (50 kick/50 swim) - 6 x 100 smooth swim
