Running (Road) 2:05:00 [3] 12.0 mi (10:25 / mi)

OK, this was a good run and a bad run. It was supposed to be a 13-mile run, but ended at 12 (that's part of the badness). The good part is that I ran through Gettysburg Battlefield, along the Auto Tour. It was a grey and windy day, but just running through the battlefield, passing all the state monuments, Abner Doubleday's statue (my fav), over Big and Little Roundtop...it was great. However, I forgot to pack any gel or snacks to bring, so after the aforementioned Roundtops, I pretty much was out of steam. I made it through the Wheatfield, but hit the proverbial wall at mile 12. I still had to walk 1.5 miles back to my car. As I was passing the impressive Pennsylvania monument, I started shivering and got a little dizzy. By the time I made it back to my car, I was almost throwing up (ok, that was the worst of the bad). I scarfed down every morsel of food in my car (a granola bar).

The best part, though, was that I then went to the local YWCA and sat in the whirlpool for 20 mins. I felt like I was melting. Then, on to a local coffee shop for a wonderful lunch and a steaming cup of joe. I was in heaven!

Cycling (Trainer) 56:27 [3] 15.0 mi (15.9 mph)

I've been trying to get out on the road for the past few weeks to bike, and it just is not happening. So, I hauled my bike out of my car and set it back on my trainer :-(

This was a fine session...nothing spectacular except that I was able to watch all of the coverage of the announcement of Prince Charles' engagement to Camilla...the wench!

Running (Road) 40:00 [3] 4.0 mi (10:00 / mi)

Ran after work with Meg. It was a pretty stressful day, and it felt good to get out. We ran on MacArthur Blvd. from Meg's house towards Great Falls, MD. Although there is a fair amount of traffic on this road, it's still a nice place to run. And it's always wonderful to run with Meg...a nice source of support and advice.

Running (Road) 1:27:51 [3] 9.0 mi (9:46 / mi)

This was one beautiful day! Sunny, in the mid-60's. I was totally overdressed in tights and long-sleeved polypro top.

I ran this one on the battlefield, one of my favorite places to run. It was quite crowded today...lots of people emerging from their homes. Although I hadn't run this far in a while, it still felt fine. Very encouraging!

Swimming 35:00 [2]

I wasn't going to swim today, but I was near the pool, had my gear in the car, and the pool was empty...so I hopped in.

An easy workout of some simple drills.
