Garmin about 5 mins to initiate ; started without it initiated .. gave up waiting

took a day trip by high speed train 150 miles from Hefei to Nanjing

walked along the very impressive city wall (about 50 feet high and 80 feet wide ) in the South gate area, then went to the Ming Tombs, then Botanical Gardens and Xuanwu Lake park . Very interesting.

Note: did not go to Nanjing Massacre memorial since a) there was a big remembrance gathering the day before and b) guide book indicated it was very gruesome. The Japanese government to this day still don't acknowledge their massacre of ~300,000 people . The Japanese could learn a lot from the distinctly different approach that the German people have taken to dealing with the past bad behaviours of their leaders in WWII
