Running warm up/down 20:00 [1]

Orienteering race 1:40:41 [3] 9.3 km (10:50 / km)

Test race at the Herbouilly map above Vercor. Knew this map had bigger details and a lot denser network of path, and tried to focus on finding easy solutions and safe control taking. Started ok, but made a smaller mistake on the 2nd control and a bigger one to the 3rd control where I did not understand anything in the control circle (there was big stones everywhere and only one on the map which I was supposed to find...) found it and ran ok until the 6th control where I made a smaller mistake into the control and to the 7th I did the same. After a lot of path running an easy control I fell asleep some seconds before the 11th control and suddenly I didn't know how fare I had been running on the path. Lost 2.5min (the map was not good, but it should not have gone 2.5min here). Lost again 2min to the 14th control because of hesitating and then taking the wrong routechoice. Then I ran ok except of one control in the butterfly where I lost 2.5min more. And in the end I was beaten with 6minuts of the fastes woman. Not so much compared to all my mistakes, but still disappointing to be so fare away from managing the terrain...

First it was 45minuts to run uphill to the start, then we started directly and I started quite ok by choosing to run a path, found my attackpoint and entered the control circle of the first control. Misread the map and did not realise that I need to run some meters downwards, and found some other cliffs before I found the correct on. No big mistake but a couple of minuts was lost. To the 2nd control I started out ok, but after half of the leg I thought I was getting close to the control circle and started to run into the area where I thought the control was supposed to be. Nothing fitted and I started to search for a path left for the control. Felt I found it but did still not manage to understand where my control was. Decided to run down again to where I thought I knew for sure where I was and tried again. This time I tried to run an other way then the first time but did still not understand anything....After 15 minuts I found the control and watching the gos afterwards I was searching way to early for the control....Angry, I ran the 'safe' route choice right, but on the way into the control circle nothing looked like expected and 3 more minuts where lost...it got harder and harder to trust my own orienteering and all the time I felt the terrain was different then on the map. Struggled my way through the competition and lost time all the way, because I did not belive in my own orienteering skills anymore. Disappointed, and with low self confidence I finnished my race 30minuts behind Helena Jansson.

Technical training at Montagne de Bange, fell in a stone whole to the first control and after that I found my self being a little to careful. Made a couple of mistakes but nothing big, and since the terrain is so demanding I also rad with a little bad feeling. But all in all I ran ok
