10th Nationaler. DNF

Snow, steep, sleepery, dangerous - too detailed for 1:15000 scale (not possible to draw all object, not possible to see runability from the map). After 3 controls I was not able to take it seriously, and continiued easy, after 9 controls I decided to go back to the finnish.

25-manna 2nd leg for Sävedalens AIK 1. Run a good race, starting out with the leading group after a strong 1st leg from Andrej. I had different forking than the rest of the girls in this group and ran several legs alone, criss-crossing the others. Since we were the leading teams we had to do the orienteering by ourself, and the open area made it easier for those coming behind us, do to very high visibility. At the 3rd last control, Alva Olson Linkåopings OK past us (after having seen us for a while) in a very high speed gaining 50 meters directly. I was suprised, but after her attack I ran the same speed as her (she slowed down again), but I never managed to catch her again. So she could change over 1st and I was 2nd.


In the end if got 22nd position, which is the 2nd best result ever for the club (best was 16th) after many good performances. 2nd team was 147th.

Orienteering race 16:19 [4] 3.7 km (4:25 / km) +90m 3:56 / km

World Cup Sprint Relay - 8th position (team) - 2nd position (leg).

Ran the last leg of Norway Team 1 after Kamilla, Carl and Øystein. I got sent out in 14th position just behind Maja Alm Demark 1 and Sabine Hauswirth Switzerland 3. I started controlled, but the leg to control 2 was tricky and I was glad when Maja ran in the direction I was planning to go. I lost her the last part of the way to the control, but got it just behind Sabine. No other difficulties before the arena passage. After the arena I started seeing more teams in front of me, but I stayed focused in order to not do any mistakes. Here I past several runners, and approaching the 2nd last control I had Sweden 2 some 20 meters infront of me, and several teams just behind. I tried to push hard the last hill, and catched some meters on Sweden 2, but didn't manage to overtake her. I ran in as team nr 8, and I am really satisfied with having the 2nd best leg time of all women just beaten with 7 sec by Maja Alm.

World Cup Finale Middle Distance - 26th.

Tired after yesterdays long distance. Started out controlled using time to avoid mistakes. This worked out fine the first 3 controls, but to the 4th I misunderstood the map and made a mistake (30-40 s). That nerved me, and maybe that made me a bit to little careful to the 5th and I made a new bigger mistakes (1:30 min +). That made me pull my self together technically and I performed ok the rest of the race, but I had to fight hard to make it. Physically I lost some time all the way, and in the end I got catched with 6 minutes of the winner Cathrine Taylor.

Anyway, the splits of the race showed that eventhough I lost time to Taylor (who did not finnish the long distance), my speed would have been good enough for a postion around top 10, but with two mistakes I had no chance of course.

Solid performance, but several small mistakes. Anyway satisfied with the race and the result.
