Map Hike at Hunter's Creek.
Wanted to try to cure my NDD (Nature Deficit Disorder) while "testing" my knee. I still can't really run any distance, but I thought I had a chance to 'clear the hike'. Obviously, I failed.
Clean to #19, but when I got to #20, I found that I had lost my pen, so I resorted to trying to remember to use my phone to photo the marker. Thought I spiked #22 (Map pin 3), but couldn't find it so NDD began to be replaced by MHF (Map Hike Frustration). Went on, but after botching the exit from #25, I couldn't find #1 (Map pin 6) and the MHF returned. Was clean for a while then; blew the approach to #10 and went through too much green and ended up spiking it - go figure! Fine after that until #5 (Map pins 16/17) which I should not have approached dead on. Clearly got turned in the swamp and missed it, but did eventually find the trail and re-attack. No good, I did find what I think was the man-made object (hunter's blind), but no marker. At this point, exhaustion was settling in and I stumbled back to the car picking up a few easy ones on the way. When done, realized that I either didn't completely take - or subsequently erased - three photos. Either way, I have to go back, so...
Knee held up, but is sore today, and I am a bit stiff after a longer walk in the woods than I have taken in over a year. It's kind of a good feeling, however.
