BFLO Score O at Camp Schoelkopf

Ran registration so I was a bit off mentally at the beginning. Caught my shoe on a root leaving the start and tore open the shoe and hurt the foot a bit. Ended up chasing Elena Logvina to the first four. Heading to my fourth, I decided to change my control order and I didn't leave the control cleanly. I ended up crossing the wrong stream, climbed a very large hill and realized that I was off the map. Back down the hill across another stream and then up the (originally) intended big hill. Fourteen minutes on a 300m leg. Clean to the next two and even moderately clean to the next although it was placed on the wrong side of the hill. Clean to next five before I was completely stumped by a one-pointer. Turns out that it was misplaced - in the wrong depression on the wrong side of the trail and behind the shelter instead of somewhat in front of it. Recovered for the next and ran into Mike Lyons after that on the way to 113. Map was funky in the area of 117, but we were able to silently feed off each other to overcome it. Next eight were clean; saw Dave Cady twice, once returning from the southernmost control and once heading to finish leaving his (and my) last control as I headed in. Not a bad run if you discount the misplaced controls and ignore the time I spent off the map.
