Orienteering 1:45:00 [2] 6.3 km (16:40 / km) +165m 14:44 / km

Vetting for the Ellicotville Adventure Run.

Five controls in the grossest area of the park. All ribbons where they should be, but the vegetation was often thick. Thankfully, the map is very good so I was able to spike four of them and was off by less than 50m on the other (and could immediately relocate). Still, Theresa went with me and said this area was "miserable".

Ribbon setting for Ellicottville Adventure Run

Set three ribbons out in a different part of the map. By contrast to the earlier section, I could have worn work clothes for this loop with no concern other than sweating as I climbed the hill. Everything was open and beautiful. Spiked all three sites; these flags will likely be visible at a distance and folks will enjoy running here!

Somehow, today's class felt "lighter"....

Cutthroat with Ryan and Jerrry. Just couldn't get psyched at all.

Ryan was late, so Jerry and I started singles. It ended in a 2-2 tie and Jerry is claiming the victory due to "age points".

First (real) game: 15-8-4
Second game: 15-3-4
Third game: Jerry took a early lead of eight points, but I took the last five to win 15-8-14 (after he had two game point serves)
