Swimming 27:20 intensity: (21:20 @2) + (6:00 @3) 1.0 km (27:20 / km)

Mixture of drills. Kickboard with no fins is a brutal one.

Cutthroat with Brian and Lucas

We all got loose and were really psyched - at least at first. Brian continued his recent habits of poor form, though, and wasn't really in any of the games.

First game: I was making shots and playing just steadily better than my opponents 15-8-5
Second game: I continued hot and led 13-4-6 before hanging on to win 15-12-8
Third game: Now I felt that no matter what, I was "redeemed" for the night and may have relaxed. Came on a bit at the end, but lost 13-15-6

Now Brian felt that, despite his poor play, we should try another. Lucas was amazingly focused and Brian and I weren't: 2-15-2

Well, that was too fast, so we tried again. This time, I had the focus: 15-6-4.

"One more, guys?" Okay, but I was exhausted and Lucas wasn't. 6-15-6.

Still, I took 3 out of 6 from our best player. Clearly, the competition is making me better.

New instructor - who teaches the evening classes. Hmmm... Can I jiggle my training schedule?

Handball 1:00:00 intensity: (40:00 @1) + (20:00 @2)

Two different matches. Joined John B. and Dave C. a bit late (as planned):

Spent the evening serving left-handed towards opponents' right hands.

First game: Trailed 9-11-4, won 15-12-6
Second game: Trailed 2-8-6 when John had to leave, lost the next two points to trail 2-10 and then came back to win 15-14.

Second match against Jerry and Jim S. Neither is a strong player and I mostly worked on technique. I won all three games...

Running 32:22 [3] 5.0 km (6:28 / km)

Went for a windy "redo" of the campus 5K course, but the results weren't as I had hoped as I was two minutes slower. Admittedly, I didn't feel all that good, but still...
