Drifter's Peak course. Bike was off-line so I had no idea what to shoot for. It didn't matter as my legs had so little energy for the first half that I debated quitting. When the downhill came, I found a "second wind" and shot for under 38 minutes thinking that was the goal. I missed what would have been my ghost by a bit over a minute though. Top half overall and age group. Still second at the Y, but almost five minutes out of first. P:189; C:53

Thunderball course: Was a shade (pun intended) behind my ghost at first, but then began to open up space. I thought that under 36 was doable, but near the end, I saw that it I pushed it, I could go under 35. Top 25% overall; eight seconds off that mark for age group. Only 4th out of 8 all time at the Y - same as before this ride. Wow! P:227; C:54

So I shoveled yesterday at 4 pm. We got 1-2 inches overnight. While I was at the Y this morning, the Girl Scout cookie sales team came up our walk, slipped and fell. They didn't say anything to Theresa, but the evidence was in the newly fallen snow. I presume that the "victim" is okay.

Lost Valley course. Ride was slow from a cadence perspective, but I tried to push it; it just wasn't there. Top 1/3 overall and age group. Lost to my ghost (who wasn't showing up) by 23 seconds. Still 2nd all-time at the Y, but this ride would have been third. AND, I finished the 5,000 calorie challenge! P:221; C:54.

Vindicator course. Couldn't catch my ghost who passed me like I was standing still at the 2.5 mile mark and ultimately beat me by 95 seconds. Top 35% overall; top 40% age group. Pyramid Mountain course. Steady ride, slowly opening up distance on my ghost on the uphill (and start of the down) and then mostly maintaining that on the downhill. Took my ghost by 26 seconds and improved the Y record. Top 25% overall; top 30% age group. P: 231; C:61

Temple Ridge course. Tried to "sneak in" a long ride (machines have a 30-minute limit now due to post-New Year's demand) during a real down time. Got away with it although by the end of my cool down the place was filling up again. Top 1/3 overall; just missed that for my age group. Second all-time at the Y, fourteen seconds off the pace. Ascension course. Got ahead of my ghost and stayed there, gradually opening up a lead that was almost two minutes when I finished. What makes this deserving of logging is that it was done in a wind chill of -23 (according to AP's weather bug). Why? Because the airline lost my daughter's luggage and the guy on the phone said they would only deliver if the walkway was shoveled. Why complain about this? Because they didn't deliver anyway because they got "stuck" in Warren, PA and would deliver this morning. Of course that meant another (unlogged) shoveling. Pretty sad, she was supposed to land at 12:45 am on Tuesday and at 11 am on Thursday we still don't have the luggage which was lost when her original flight got cancelled. Yuck!

Savage Revenge course. This month's challenge is 5000 calories. The measurement is odd, though - even by random cardio-equipment standards. The bike said my course was 990; including cool-down 1024. The site says 971 (course only). The challenge credits me with 1006, but it says it does course only. Wow!

In any event, one course down on my annual "do all the courses" challenge.

Was feeling out of it a bit and couldn't keep up with my ghost after the first two miles or so. He took me by a bit over two minutes. P: 199; C: 56
