Running 45:15 [3] 4.3 mi (10:31 / mi) +50m 10:09 / mi

Richter Center (complete) trail loop, using woods options

Biking 31:00 [2] 5.6 mi (5:32 / mi)

Unlike 'Bash, I had the pouring rain excuse until noon so I only got out this afternoon and did one lap of the trail, but the puddles were so bad, I skipped out on the second lap.

Biking 54:00 [3] 11.2 mi (4:49 / mi)

Two loops of the trail; now that classes are starting, it's probably my last chance... at least at that hour...

Watercize 49:00 [1]

So at the end of class, when we are doing the stretch where we are often told to "curl your back and hug the tree", today I was told to be a "good Tree Hugger". Bash and 'Bent, I tried to live up to the standard; of course, it's an easier standard when you are only stretching...

Biking 54:00 [3] 11.2 mi (4:49 / mi)

Two laps of the River Trail, including a time out to deal with an abandoned bike (been there for two days) along the way. Called the town police when I got back; they said I was the second call in the last ten minutes so I guess the other biker who stopped at the same time made the call as well. Nice that the Trail is full of people who care.

Field Checking 2:45:00 intensity: (1:30:00 @1) + (30:00 @2) + (45:00 @3)

Hosted a Scout event (Score-O style) for my next door neighbor's troop at Sprague Brook park. There would be three teams, so I put three ribbons (different colors) at each site and they had to pick them up in lieu of punching. An added bonus is that any site that gets three visitors needn't be picked up! I got to skip four of twenty-one sites this way and one of the leaders got the three extremal sites as they were all within 50m of a bounding road. So the pickup was fast which was nice because I had had enough...

Biking 54:00 [3] 11.2 mi (4:49 / mi)

Two laps of the River Trail, trying to beat the rain (mostly successfully).

Partway through the second lap, I was talking to Theresa about my friend Mike's training plans and how they might affect my Raid The Hammer team. About fifteen seconds after we finish, we turn the corner and see Jim, the third member of our team, out for a run; I slowed to update him before "bolting for home", i.e. the office. Now, of course, it looks like the rain will hold off.

Running 35:46 [3] 3.4 mi (10:31 / mi) +145m 9:17 / mi

Neighborhood loop. Went early to beat the heat, but the humidity got me. With about 0.5 miles to go, the thunderstorm broke. *sigh* (But at least the last quarter mile - downhill in the rain - was great...)

Running 36:12 [3] 3.4 mi (10:39 / mi) +145m 9:24 / mi

Neighborhood loop. Was trying to run while fog was still out, but got distracted and left a bit late. Temperature went up eight degrees while I was running as the fog burned off almost right away.

Biking 28:00 [2] 5.6 mi (5:00 / mi)

Liesurely trip on the River Trail in the heat of the late day. The breeze along the river was a nice respite, but the unplanned detour due to (one block - but no warning or info) the trail being "closed" included a near accident with an idiot driver...

Running 37:19 [3] 3.0 mi (12:26 / mi) +200m 10:18 / mi

Allegany State Park

Quaker Beach gate towards Cain Hollow campground then on the Flagg Hill Trail to Quaker beach and back on the road. The heat was present but not too bad, but budget cuts mean the beach closes earlier than it used to and I had to park outside the gate to ensure that I didn't get trapped. The net result was less warmup before Flagg Hill and I suffered. I also when ass over teakettle a couple of time as the fields at the top of the hill were both steep and very wet/slick. Always an interesting run when the back of your shirt is muddier than your shoes...

Running 17:38 [2]

Run with some walking in heat. Had planned to go Theresa's studio, effect a repair and run home. Being taken out for breakfast put a crimp in that as I then had to "run" on a full stomach and an hour later in the heat. Net result was that I walked a good bit and only logged the running time...

Biking 52:00 [3] 11.2 mi (4:39 / mi)

Two loops of the River Trail (straight up)

Swimming 8:00 [2] 0.2 mi (39:59 / mi)

Lap swim in the only cool pool we found in a week in FL. Alas, I had no goggles and the chlorine got to me.
