Jason's house to Mount Tabor and back. Bonus feature of being present (and having to dodge small amounts of debris) for a bad traffic accident - no one badly hurt, but one car totaled as an idiot ran a red light at speed to make a left turn and t-boned an innocent driver. Excuse was "was so happy not to see a stop sign that didn't see the light"; problem with excuse is last stop sign on that road is fourteen blocks back...

Once again, legs were tired and I struggled to even get through the course. Never came close to PR, but did meet minimal goal of a sub-30 ride. Top 35% overall; bottom 50% by one position (but ten seconds). Still 3rd out of 12 at the Y - this just isn't my course - but this ride would have been good only for 8th. P:178; C:60

Sadly, the 2-mile/day challenge ended today with travel prep, rain, and very tired legs doing me in. Wednesday was going to be a nearly impossible day anyway - with a 5 am departure and 6:30 pm arrival in Portland (and can't really go right out and run immediately after arriving), so...

Sprague Brook Red course

Course was split into three parts, runner/navigator/runner. Ironically, I did worst in the middle, blowing the first (5 min.), third (6 min.), and last (5 min.) controls. Otherwise ran well and even without those errors, my position wouldn't change! 3rd out of 9.

Knox Farm Orange course

Decided to try it without the benefit of a compass. Quickly discovered that there were gopher holes all over the place. Made a tough route choice to #5 while compass and cost myself five minutes. Then stepped in a hole on the trail on the way to #6 and limped for a good while. Ultimately came in second to Greg Hyatt by about 90 seconds.
