Jumped two seconds ahead of my ghost in the first fifteen seconds and then fought him the rest of the way with my lead switching from one to three seconds (except for a bump to five at the top of the hill). In the end, I set a PR by two seconds. Top 5% overall; top 10% age group. Second all time (out of thirty-five) at the Y; twelve seconds off the pace.

Hancock/Causeway loop at my mom's. Clock ran while I was "greeted" by Eli, the semi-aggressive St. Bernard partway up the hill. Probably lost about fifteen seconds total, but it did affect my heart rate. (Eli's "parents" were horrified that he had gotten out and that he disturbed me.)

Raid The Hammer - Quantum Navigators (with Tom Rycroft and Patty Lyons)

Generally a good race. We finished 3rd of 4 in the Masters Division with no hope of catching either team in front of us. Mostly a clean run with some trouble having our legs blown out by the Half Pipe (controls 3-7). Our one "navigational" error was going to the wrong power pylon in the matrix (at the very end) and having to send Tom back to get it. Weather was perfect; navigation was solid but for a few small bobbles and strategy was as good as our team strengths (and weaknesses) would allow.
