Monkey Pass course

So, last week, I thought that I had only Basic rides to go to finish my yearly challenge. There are 14 such rides and my status said "14 to go". BUT, the new ride doesn't count and I was missing a longer one - that I had "skipped" around the time of my vacation. So...

Fell behind my ghost pretty early and wasn't even pacing well to the seasonal record at the Y (held by someone of about my caliber.) Was trailing by 13 seconds after 1.5 miles which wasn't going to make either goal. BUT, I kept pushing and began to reel him in (to my great surprise.) Caught him 0.5 miles before the top of the hill and opened up a lead that grew to ten seconds before it faded to eight. Top 10% overall and age group. Still second all-time at the Y (out of nineteen) but now by twelve seconds. P:236; C:57.
