running 15:00 [3] 1.5 km (10:00 / km) +120m 7:09 / km

A bit of warm up. I realised doing the full 20 minutes was just going to make me even more tired.

orienteering 1:04:16 [3] 7.4 km (8:41 / km) +150m 7:53 / km

CLOK long distance, Graystone Moor near Whitby, blue course.

Very tired. I was ok yesterday but today I just wanted to go back to sleep. Too much stuff in one week.

I wandered about a bit on the way to #2, partly because I started reading my way into #10 as I approached the control. Tired mistake, 45 seconds. Then I ran past the right tree at #4 to look at the wrong tree, not looking at the map properly, 30 seconds. I had pretty much given up by then and just plodded the rest of the way around as best I could, walking through the worst of the heather and tussocks and up any hills.

Should have been at least 5 minutes quicker, but not so bad.

running 23:00 [3] 1.7 mi (13:32 / mi)

Full 20 minute warm up jog - backwards and forwards between the car park and the start.

orienteering 48:27 [4] 6.0 km (8:05 / km) +150m 7:11 / km

CLOK middle distance, Standing Stones Rigg near Whitby, blue course. Very easy high visibility moorland, a bit heavy underfoot in places and with some gorges to negotiate near the end.

A bit too far left on #7, maybe 40 seconds lost. Otherwise nothing very much. I could see other people the whole way round, overtaking 3 Crawshaws amongst others and spending lots of time in the company of Fay Walsh.

Note

Full traverse of Quinag with Tasha, Evie, Louise and Janet. Included a very brief swim in the big lochan in the corrie on the way down.

hill running 1:44:52 [3] 6.8 mi (15:25 / mi) +650m 11:53 / mi

Cul Mor with Evie. I couldn't keep up with Evie but managed to keep going ok despite being pretty knackered. Got into the cloud at around 600m so no views, and the last part of the climb we were scrabbling around in a boulder field which we might have been able to avoid if we could see further. Back down the same way.

Note

Walk up An Teallach. Didn't go over the pinnacles. Lots of waiting around for people.
