orienteering 56:00 [3] 4.0 km (14:00 / km)

YHJS training at West Haigh. I did control hanging on the new bit - mostly chest high grass and thistles or head high bracken. Very slow, very hard work and some fairly tenuous control sites. All of the juniors failed to find one of my controls. Draw your own conclusions.

hill running 1:38:20 [4] 8.8 mi (11:10 / mi) +500m 9:30 / mi

Pinhaw Beacon, Standrise, Carleton, Ramshaw, Lothersdale, Pinhaw Beacon. Same as last week, only doing it properly. Still didn't find the path across the ravine but made sure I erred on the high side rather than the low side. Running ok.

running 26:45 [3] 2.8 mi (9:33 / mi)

Thursday Jul 12, 2018 #

running 54:18 [4] 6.5 mi (8:21 / mi)

Ridge, Sugarwell, Tunnel How Hill. Trying to go fast but always finding it hard work. Not too bad.

Wednesday Jul 11, 2018 #

running 30:00 [3] 3.0 mi (10:00 / mi)

St Chad's, Queenswood, Batcliffe Wood. Couldn't get from St Chad's into Church Wood because the gate has been locked. It looks like they are building a mega-duckboard through the woods and the gate is locked while work is in progress. I had no choice but to go round the road into Carnegie, then cut off short in Batcliffe Wood to get back in time for the football.

Tuesday Jul 10, 2018 #

running 47:30 [3] 4.7 mi (10:06 / mi)

Seven Arches. Scotland Wood in 11:52.
