orienteering 1:00:00 [3] 5.0 km (12:00 / km)

Hanging and collecting controls on White Horse and Hood Hill. Nice day, maybe a bit chilly for standing around but fine for running. Seemed to go alright.

Legs very tired by the end. I'm not used to the terrain. I guess it doesn't help that I've missed out on 3 races I meant to do in the last month. I don't feel at all ready for the JK.

orienteering 40:00 [3] 4.0 km (10:00 / km)

Went back to White Horse to check a couple of things I had decided to re-plan. Looking better now.

orienteering race 34:21 [4] 4.1 mi (8:23 / mi) +150m 7:31 / mi

Aire o-lite, Danefield. Quite a good course, I enjoyed this but felt a bit slow, very slow on the hills.. It was pretty heavy going and there's been some forestry work that has left lots of brashings and very deep vehicle ruts.

I caught some old guy at 4 but never quite got in front of him, and he slowly pulled away over the remainder of the course before leaving me completely on one of the big climbs. Turns out when I finished he is actually an M21, he just has less hair than me. I beat him by a minute or so because of the time he lost before #4. Also pipped Steve Webb by a minute for an o-lite victory.

hill intervals 35:00 [5] 3.0 mi (11:40 / mi)

6 x Dunny Hill. First time in a while. Good series.

2:01, 1:58, 1:59, 2:02, 2:06, 2:06

Struggling a bit with the last 2 but just held it together.

running 35:33 [3] 3.8 mi (9:21 / mi)

Steady run with Evie, with a couple of bursts of speed towards the end. Carr Manor, Tunnel How Hill cycle path, Church Lane.

Monday Mar 19, 2018 #

running 59:45 [4] 7.0 mi (8:32 / mi)

Butcher Hill, Newlay Bridge, Kirkstall Bridge, road route. Making up for not doing anything yesterday. It felt like hard work but was faster than I felt.
