orienteering race 59:46 [4] 7.5 km (7:58 / km) +140m 7:17 / km

Brown Course, South Gare Dunes, Redcar.

Mostly fairly pleasant dunes area next to Redcar steelworks. Lost a minute at number one, stopped too short because the map was a proper scale 1:10000 unlike the White Rose 1:7500. At least I only lost a minute, Cat T lost 5 at the same control. After that I was better. I didn't like the route to #15, got stuck in some horrible vegetation that wasn't mapped, but I don't seem to have lost much time relative to others. Not sure about the map in places, could possibly have done with 2.5m contours because lots was missed off.

6 minutes behind Chris McKenzie, 4 behind Alasdair, and 21 seconds ahead of Mike.

orienteering race 42:00 [3] 3.2 km (13:07 / km)

White Rose team race. Not really feeling up for it. Silly scrum at number 1 with 50 people trying to punch in one box. Slow, lost a minute at one control that I had found ok yesterday. Ended up in a sprint finish with Lesley Ross. As a team we were poor, Evie having started a loop the wrong way and losing 6 minutes.
