Note
(sick)

Nice long walk on the North York Moors. Chop Gate, Tripsdale, Bransdale, Farndale, Esklets, Westerdale, Baysdale, Urra Moor, Chop Gate. It was longer than I thought and I was suffering at the end. Also I made a navigational error, sort of. I thought I had missed a path or it didn't exist when I just hadn't gone far enough, so I trogged across 3/4 mile of heather instead, and had a bit of a wobble while I was doing it.

In about 1990, when I tried to cut across the same bit of heather on a run in thick mist I never made it to the other side. Instead I turned back on myself (no compass) and was running for the best part of an hour before I found myself in Westerdale, 3 miles in the wrong direction. All good fun.

23 miles, 6:45.
