cycling 1:25:00 [3] 14.0 mi (6:04 / mi)

Cycling with Charlie again. Butcher Hill, Hawksworth Wood, Newlay Bridge, followed the towpath to Apperley Bridge where Charlie carried on towards Shipley and I turned up the hill and returned via Woodlands Drive and the ring road. It felt easier than yesterday, but we weren't going any quicker.

My bike is a girl's bike. Actually it is the bike Tasha doesn't ride because it is too rubbish. It has a girl's saddle, apparently. The brakes don't work very well, the gears don't work very well. The engine doesn't work very well.

cycling 2:00:00 [3] 20.0 mi (6:00 / mi)

Cycling with Charlie. Not very quick, struggled on the hills, had to get off and push when we went off road, but it was mostly on road. Eccup, Harewood, Weeton, Pool, Bramhope.

My quads died after climbing Creskeld Lane and I just plodded back to Headingley. My bum hurts. First time on a bike since Simon's 40th birthday 2008, and that was the first time for 10 years before that.

Note

Paroxysmal (ie occasional) Atrial Fibrillation has turned into Permanent (ie all the time) Atrial Fibrillation. Actually I am waiting for confirmation of that having had a monitor on for a couple of days last week, but I am not aware of having had a normal heart rhythm since the summer.

I am very worn down, I don't know whether to exercise or not because it leaves me feeling pretty wasted, but not exercising is worse. I don't even feel up to walking much at the moment.

It will be a couple of months before I get to see the consultant about it - he has lots of patients with bigger problems than mine.
