hill running 1:20:00 [4] 7.0 mi (11:26 / mi) +600m 9:02 / mi

From Hayfield (the car park up the valley), up Sandy Heys, round past Kinder Downfall to Kinder Low and off Kinderlow End and back to Hayfield. I timed myself up Sandy Heys and was determined to run every step. I managed, but on some of the steeper bits I think walking would have been quicker. It took 18 minutes. I think 12 used to be about normal. The rest I was just plodding. Sandy Heys is 1.3 km and 310 metres of climb. I am not used to doing big climbs like this any more - my HR is not maxed out (it was between 155 and 158 most of the way up) but the legs just won't go.

running 50:00 [4] 6.0 mi (8:20 / mi) +100m 7:55 / mi

Set off to jog round the park - I can't go more than 15 minutes away from home because I am on standby for work. Anyway when I got to the park I wasn't feeling too bad so I decided to do a couple of fastish full laps of the park - from the Weetwood Mill Lane bridge, goit, Whale Stone, south end of the Hollies, tennis courts, main path, stepping stones, up the hill and past the lower side of the lower quarry and up past the middle quarry then down through the park back to Hustler's Row. It's about 2.8k and I guess about 100m of climb. First lap I did in 14:52, then I jogged about for 10 minutes, then a second lap in 14:22. I put a bit more effort into the second, but wasn't feeling on top form either time.

Note

Still having trouble with the ticker. It makes it hard to concentrate on work.

Jog round West Park fields, Queenswood. Having a bit of trouble with the ticker. Not very happy.

Note

I have a heart monitor from the hospital on again, for two days this time. When I had a monitor on for 7 days the hospital only analysed the first 24 hours and forgot about the rest. They did get round to it eventually but only after I had pointed it out to them.

Note

MRI scan. Lying in a big plastic tube for 1.5 hours keeping completely still and holding my breath while my insides get magnetised. Not fun.
6 PM

running 28:30 [3] 3.0 mi (9:30 / mi) +80m 8:46 / mi

School Lane, Stepping Stones. Very tired, very slow but not really all that bad - I was reasonably comfortable. Why is having an MRI exhausting? All you do is lie there.
