running 2:06:15 [3] 12.0 mi (10:31 / mi)

Rawdon Biling

Friday Oct 30, 2020 #

running 36:55 [3] 4.3 mi (8:35 / mi)

Stainbeck and Stonegate. Steady start, got faster when I started going downhill. Not taking your wife on your run means you can go quicker. Unless you are Ricky.

Wednesday Oct 28, 2020 #

running 59:33 [3] 5.0 mi (11:55 / mi)

Circuit of Dalmeny estate from under the Forth Rail Bridge. It stopped raining when we left the hills of Perthshire behind - nice and sunny in the flatlands.

scenic pottering 1:48:10 [3] 7.9 mi (13:42 / mi)

Very wet, very slow run with Tasha. Crieff, Lady Mary's Walk, Baird Monument, Laggan Hill, the Hosh. Some lovely bits, especially by the river and the ridge of wooded hills after the monument. Cloud base was just about on the tree tops, we weren't going up any proper hills today.

Monday Oct 26, 2020 #

Note

Ben Vorlich and Stuc a'Chroin. Got the best of the weather, a bit grey on the way up but then quite a lot of sunshine for the rest of the day and the cloud coming and going on the tops. Easy walking to the top of Ben Vorlich, then quite rough, steep and rocky across to Stuc a'Chroin. The return journey contouring across bogs was horrible.

running 1:17:14 [3] 7.1 mi (10:53 / mi)

Ridge, Sugarwell, Meanwood, Hollies. Wasn't intending to go this far but it was a lovely evening and I was just pottering along. It got a bit dark by the time I got to the Hollies. Did a bit of an effort up Sunset for a segment pb yay.

Had a bit of an altercation with a car driver just before I got home. He pulled up in front of me completely blocking the pavement so that he could use his phone, so I had to go into the road. I banged on the car and gestured and he didn't like that. He pursued me down the street (in his car obvs) shouting out the window at me. I shouted a few things back but mostly just carried on running and eventually he gave up. Car drivers aren't as bad as dog owners but some of them are getting there.

I'm beginning to think I might be a bit of a misanthrope.

Thursday Oct 22, 2020 #

running 59:57 [3] 6.5 mi (9:13 / mi) +200m 8:25 / mi

Steady start, got quicker.

Wednesday Oct 21, 2020 #

running 49:03 [3] 5.3 mi (9:15 / mi)

Gledhow Park. Feeling much better than yesterday. Nice and steady.

Tuesday Oct 20, 2020 #

running 49:59 [3] 4.6 mi (10:52 / mi)

Seven arches, feeling a bit off-colour. Very pleasant evening.

Sunday Oct 18, 2020 #

running 1:28:43 [3] 8.1 mi (10:57 / mi)

Stoodley Royal, seven bridges valley, Studley Roger and Hell Wath. Nice and relaxed, stopped to take a few photos. All very pleasant apart from a filthy shitty farmyard on the south western section. I wouldn't go that way again but it was the only place where you could get a view of the abbey.

Saturday Oct 17, 2020 #

running 1:06:27 [3] 5.9 mi (11:16 / mi)

Urra Moor loop from Clay Bank. Heavy going on the path along the edge. Twisted my ankle going down a blocky stone ankle breaker path with half a mile to go. Hobbled to the car but it was fine later.

Friday Oct 16, 2020 #

running 45:00 [3] 5.0 mi (9:00 / mi)

Eccup and Emmerdale. Muddy and a bit dark.

Thursday Oct 15, 2020 #

running 48:05 [3] 4.1 mi (11:44 / mi)

Wednesday Oct 14, 2020 #

running 45:00 [3] 4.5 mi (10:00 / mi)

2 x Parkside mile. My body was an unwilling participant in this, never got going on the first one, 8:18 (slowest yet). Better coming back 8:00.

Tuesday Oct 13, 2020 #

running 1:03:40 [3] 6.6 mi (9:39 / mi)

Ridge, YTV, Canal. Lots of stops for traffic.

Thixendale, Fridaythorpe, Burdale. Feeling much better than yesterday.

Saturday Oct 10, 2020 #

hill running 1:43:36 [3] 7.4 mi (14:00 / mi) +650m 11:00 / mi

Pendle from Downham, with a loop around the steep side for a bit of extra climb. A pleasant day for running, although recent rain has made the lower slopes a quagmire.

Thursday Oct 8, 2020 #

running 48:30 [3] 4.6 mi (10:33 / mi)

Seven Arches. Muddy, getting dark, feeling gloomy.

Wednesday Oct 7, 2020 #

running 22:21 [4] 2.7 mi (8:17 / mi)

Queenswood loop. Got a better start than usual and kept going.

Tuesday Oct 6, 2020 #

running 48:47 [3] 5.2 mi (9:23 / mi)

Butcher Hill, Hawksworth Wood, Abbey. Steady enough. Slippy slidy in places.

Sunday Oct 4, 2020 #

orienteering 2:20:00 [3] 8.0 km (17:30 / km)

YHJS training, Hagg Side. Lots of stopping and starting with a group going round an extended trains course. Very tough out there in the forest, and maybe I am a bit feeble. Followed by part of a clock relay when Dom retired.

Saturday Oct 3, 2020 #

Note
(rest day)

Fell asleep on the sofa instead of going out in the rain.

Thursday Oct 1, 2020 #
