Swimming 20:00 [3] 0.3 mi (1:06:38 / mi)

Pleasant swim in Loch Achilty. I am out of practice.

Thursday Jul 30, 2020 #

running 24:07 [3] 2.7 mi (8:56 / mi)

Queenswood loop. Thought I needed to be quicker.

Tuesday Jul 28, 2020 #

running 25:00 [3] 2.4 mi (10:25 / mi)

Warm up

running 7:11 [5] 1.0 mi (7:11 / mi)

Meanwood mile. I wasn't feeling too good with a dodgy tummy but went for it anyway and it wasn't too bad. The elusive 7-minute mile is getting further away.

running 20:19 [3] 1.7 mi (11:57 / mi)

Home along the ridge

Sunday Jul 26, 2020 #

running 58:44 [3] 6.5 mi (9:02 / mi) +200m 8:15 / mi

Decent pace up to the crag considering how tired my legs felt.

Saturday Jul 25, 2020 #

hill running 1:39:34 [3] 7.6 mi (13:06 / mi) +400m 11:16 / mi

Bleaklow from Woodhead Station. Up to Bleaklow Head via Near Black Clough, across to Bleaklow Stones and down Far Black Clough. I don't believe I have been on either of the Black Clough paths before. Both are rough and rocky with lots of little ups and downs. I slipped offline across the top of Bleaklow, ending up in some groughs on the Alport side before hauling myself back onto the ridge, and couldn't make my mind up which was the right path down into Far Black Clough.

Friday Jul 24, 2020 #

running 45:44 [3] 5.0 mi (9:09 / mi)

Eccup and Emmerdale loop with Evie. Quicker than the last time we were here.

Thursday Jul 23, 2020 #

running 26:19 [3] 2.7 mi (9:45 / mi)

Queenswood loop. A few random paths in places where I was avoiding people. Inadvertently speeded up in the second half.

running 7:08 [5] 1.0 mi (7:08 / mi)

scenic pottering 1:52:40 [3] 7.4 mi (15:14 / mi) +500m 12:35 / mi

Arncliffe - Kettlewell loop with Tasha. Struggle up, struggled down, struggled up and down again and then watched as Tasha pulled away from me on the flat bit at the end. Dead on my feet. A nice route though. I think I could walk it this quick.

Saturday Jul 18, 2020 #

running 1:27:30 [3] 7.4 mi (11:49 / mi)

Blackstone Edge and Dog Hill. Mostly in the rain but not too cold. Some quite nice bits.

Friday Jul 17, 2020 #

running 30:37 [5] 3.4 mi (9:00 / mi)

Sunset, Meanwood Hall and the Hollies. Started off a bit keen, was ok for the first 2 miles but then died a bit on the Hollies climb.

running 22:00 [3] 2.2 mi (10:00 / mi)

Warm up

Thursday Jul 16, 2020 #

running 47:45 [3] 4.6 mi (10:23 / mi)

Seven Arches with Evie. I was having serious palpitations before I had even started so it was quite a slow start. I got better as I went, and the palpitations stopped altogether when I almost face-planted into a rock. A pleasant afternoon but a struggle, and too many people about.

Tuesday Jul 14, 2020 #

running 25:00 [3] 2.3 mi (10:52 / mi)

Warm up

running 7:06 [5] 1.0 mi (7:06 / mi)

Meanwood mile. A bit of palpitations but ok.

running 23:00 [3] 1.9 mi (12:06 / mi)

Jog back along the ridge. Feeling relatively sprightly so I did 4 sharp sprints up the steepest part of Cardboard Hill, 15 -16 seconds a time.

Sunday Jul 12, 2020 #

scenic pottering 1:25:00 [3] 6.3 mi (13:30 / mi)

Grass Wood and Conistone Dib. With Tasha. Followed by a very brief swim.

Saturday Jul 11, 2020 #

scenic pottering 1:36:45 [3] 7.3 mi (13:15 / mi) +300m 11:45 / mi

Glasshouses, Smelthouses, Guisecliff. A mix of lovely woods and meadows and a bit of tarmac. Slow progress due to general knackeredness and getting a bit lost at times. I had to get my phone out at one point so it could tell me where I was.

Friday Jul 10, 2020 #

running 22:00 [3] 2.2 mi (10:00 / mi)

Warm up

running 30:06 [5] 3.4 mi (8:51 / mi)

Sunset, Meanwood Hall and the Hollies. Put a big effort in up Sunset and just about kept it going. I might have ducked under 30 minutes if it wasn't the rainy season.

Thursday Jul 9, 2020 #

running 27:00 [3] 2.5 mi (10:48 / mi)

Ran with Evie, struggling.

Sunday Jul 5, 2020 #

urban/sprint 41:33 [4] 4.5 km (9:14 / km)

Maprun course round Mytholmroyd - EPOC lockdown orienteering. Bright and blustery, which describes me as well as the weather, feeling much better than yesterday. I didn't have my glasses and there were a few places where I would have taken different routes if I could have seen them. Apart from that I had about 10 controls where I was waiting for the beep, mostly under 5 seconds but a couple were more like 20. On the other hand there were some where it beeped before I got there.

hill running 1:18:00 [3] 6.6 mi (11:49 / mi) +330m 10:14 / mi

For some reason I went on a hilly run with top M21 Alasdair Pedley. Broadhead Clough, Stoodley Pike, Withens Clough Resr, Cragg Vale. Not a good day for me. palpitations as far as Stoodley Pike, then it got a bit easier going downhill and I was ok but very tired on the climb at the end. Alasdair was just jogging or walking most of the time. Windy and wet, but quite warm.

Thursday Jul 2, 2020 #

urban/sprint 34:15 [3] 4.6 km (7:27 / km)

Holt Park maprun. Running a bit faster than yesterday but still not very fast. The course was half detailed sprint and half boring urban. I got caught out and a bit confused in one maze of covered alleyways but was otherwise fine. Maprun was a bit slow to register at times, worse than yesterday, perhaps because it was very overcast and wet. I'm a bit out of practice.

Wednesday Jul 1, 2020 #

urban/sprint 1:00:00 [3] 6.0 mi (10:00 / mi)

Headingley maprunf. Just jogging really, feeling a bit tired. My new phone worked 150 percent better than my old phone. No issues apart from it taking a while to register the start/finish, which might be because it was under some trees. Saw some places I've never seen before, on the far side of the cricket ground.
