Had an ultrasound camera shoved down my throat today. Much retching. Not pleasant.

White Rose, day 2, Green course. Walked the whole way. A bit physical in places so walking was as fast as anybody else was going anyway. Hot.

Evening walk - Flouch to Margery Hill and back. Pleasant evening sunshine, and there was nobody else up there.

Entertained myself by saying "Flouch" to the sheep whenever I met one. According to www.urbandictionary.com (which I think is probably mostly made up), flouch is considered by many to be the most offensive word in the English language.

Nice long walk on the North York Moors. Chop Gate, Tripsdale, Bransdale, Farndale, Esklets, Westerdale, Baysdale, Urra Moor, Chop Gate. It was longer than I thought and I was suffering at the end. Also I made a navigational error, sort of. I thought I had missed a path or it didn't exist when I just hadn't gone far enough, so I trogged across 3/4 mile of heather instead, and had a bit of a wobble while I was doing it.

In about 1990, when I tried to cut across the same bit of heather on a run in thick mist I never made it to the other side. Instead I turned back on myself (no compass) and was running for the best part of an hour before I found myself in Westerdale, 3 miles in the wrong direction. All good fun.

23 miles, 6:45.

Green course - Roseisle. Very nice. I was very precise up to half way round then I started to get a bit lazy. Followed a ride that wasn't the ride on the map and just kept going despite all the evidence that I didn't know where I was. Fortunately easy to locate at the other end but with 1.5 minutes lost. After that I was struggling a bit. 9th out of 107.
