From Court Hill along the Ridgeway to the Devil's Punchbowl and back. Views were good but the Ridgeway path is fairly tedious, made more tedious by being wet and sticky.
Weetwood Lane, Lawnswood. Taking it very steady and I was a bit sore from snow-bashing yesterday. I'm not going to repeat the mistake of trying to push the pace at all, 10 minute miles is quite fast enough.
Walk from Otley to Adel, by way of the Chevin, Danefield, Bramhope, Bowshaws, Eccup. Lots of snow, thigh deep in places. very hard work. I was fine when I was walking but crashed when I got home. Should have eaten and drunk more but it was difficult in the wind. 11 miles, 3hours 10.
feeling broken today. I knew I was pushing it a bit yesterday. I went for a lunchtime stroll which turned into a bit of an ordeal - just glad to make it back.
Walking - Knaresborough Round (most of it anyway). Horrible miserable grey wet cold day. I was short of time and all the paths were mudbaths, so I did a fair bit of jogging in the first half because it was the only way of making progress. Cut out a loop of a couple of miles towards the end because I was running out of time. 18 miles 4 hours and 10 minutes.
Wildlife notes - On a track going east from Scotton, the pond in a farmer's field had swelled to 100 metres across and the track was knee deep in water. I had no choice but to wade through, and part way across I nearly stepped on a goldfish. It was alive, swimming about near the edge of the track. I have never nearly stepped on a goldfish while out walking before.
