Thruscross Reservoir, Rocking Hall, north on tiny path then another big track and road east to the Washburn, then down the east side of the reservoir. Some nice bits, not really very hilly.

(sick)

Light Green - Northern Champs, Castle Carr. Wet and windy. Struggled for the first control and a half, uphill, then it was more or less downhill all the way to the finish. Lost a minute trying to find a clearing in a patch of woodland but I am blaming a badly marked crossing point which threw me off line. 1st place, and yet again I beat all the little girls.

running 1:06:00 [3] 6.5 mi (10:09 / mi)
(sick)

Lap of Swinsty and Fewston reservoirs, from the Timble car park. A bit easier than yesterday but it seemed like a long way when I got to the far end of Fewston and still had to come back. I thought I would be ok on this because it is all easy running and more or less flat. Sore and tired by the finish. Rain and sunshine, on and off.

orienteering race 44:02 [4] 5.3 km (8:18 / km) +175m 7:08 / km
(sick)

West Haigh, middle distance Brown. A bit tired after mountain climbing and 7+ hours of driving yesterday. Started off ok when it was mainly downhill. Lost myself on #12 - I was on the path below it but couldn't work it out, went past as far as the boulder field before the pylons (almost invisible on the map, quite large on the ground) which wasn't too far away. Then I banana'd a bit on the way to 16 - I was beginning to suffer and just wasn't climbing enough and ended up struggling uphill into the control. After that it seemed to be all uphill and I lost a few places.

9th place, 7 minutes behind Epocspookster.

hill running 58:00 [3] 5.0 mi (11:36 / mi) +400m 9:17 / mi
(sick)

Plynlimon/Pumlumon from Eisteddfa Gurig. A nice easy climb - up the valley on a good track as far as the mine, then a vague trod up the fellside. It was never really very steep and I managed to run all the way up. Then down the ridge south to the forest and back. Quite warm, a bit hazy for views but I could see the sea and lots of other nondescript mid-Wales hills.

Slow, really, but nice to be out and running up a mountain.

rowing 40:00 [3] 1.0 mi (40:01 / mi)
(sick)

On the Nidd at Knaresborough. Evie had control of the rudder while I went backwards - not a good combination. Then we swapped, which wasn't any better.

Actually we were both better rowers than most other people there. It's the conflict over control of the boat that is the problem.

Followed up by a walk/scramble round Plumpton Rocks.

Saturday Jun 1, 2013 #

running 8:30 [3] 1.0 mi (8:30 / mi)
(sick)

with Evie, but she wasn't very happy.
