Orienteering Forest 1:34:02 [3] 10.0 km (9:24 / km)

Long at West Point. Warming up to start, I had this pain in my right foot, outside close to the heel (but not the achilles). Probably due to running in new shoes on Saturday. It kind of took the fighting spirit out of me and I settled in for a slow pace and walked all uphills and took it fairly easy in general. Had a fantastic run technically though. Nailed everything except 18 at the end on a stone wall... did not check my compass there... Very good rugged and tough orienteering. Awesome!

Running Smooth 15:00 [2]

Warm-up.

Orienteering Forest 38:43 [4]

Middle at West Point. So much fun to run real orienteering in a forest that you can run through. Old-school mapping style, only showing the bigger rock features, which for some reason I also enjoyed. Had a good race. It was very good the first 2/3 where I nailed everything. Then I got very passive and hesitant on the longer leg to 12, even though I nailed the bag itself. Lost about 1 minute on this leg. Then my only control mistake was 14, where went down too far right and got into a parallel error. Another 1 min lost there. 3rd place, as some of the faster guys made a few more mistakes.

Orienteering Forest 13:53 [3]

Sprint and West Point. Fun course, majority in the forest and a little bit around the barracks. Had good flow again all the way, but turned out I skipped 14, which was this 8 second leg where you had to turn 180 degrees backwards out of 13. The circles were touching and I somehow never registered that there were 2 controls there... would have been 3rd otherwise.
