Orienteering 1:54:27 [4] 12.16 km (9:25 / km) +315m 8:20 / km

S6D, day 5, Classic race at Craig a Barns. First time on a 1:15 map for a loooong time. Forgot how hard they are to read and should have taken a magnifier but I don't have one atm. Legs felt dead from the off after yesterday, struggling to run at more than walking pace. Been taking a while to recover after everytime I do a longer/harder run recently so I guess it's just my body still adapting to running again. Tried to just hit the controls cleanly... generally was ok but made a big mistake on 3 (3 mins, stood on the hill to the north) and 20 (6mins?! generally have no idea what I was doing, but felt a bit knackered and kept on falling over, GPS suggests I was 20m away...). Bit of a rubbish routechoice to 6 too, should of stayed high. Bit out of practise with the whole forest orienteering thing but really enjoyed it, got value for money and looking forward to Stockholm now. Probably need to get a new compass (current one takes ages to settle so have to stop everytime to use it) before then. Only at the Scottish for a couple of days but so nice to catch up with people!

Running warm up/down 19:17 [3] 2.66 km (7:15 / km) +135m 5:47 / km

Did not leave enough time to get to the start! Did not realise there was so much climb. Arrived as my name was being called and saved the run up to the start on my watch to be told I needed 16 hours recovery...

Orienteering 1:17:23 [4] 11.23 km (6:53 / km) +316m 6:02 / km

S6D, day 4 at Culteuchar and Dron. Had an alright run although it wasn't too challenging - nice open hillside. Went round the left of the lake to 8 when probably should have gone right and went right on the long leg to 12 when probably should have gone left. Felt slow but steady.

Running warm up/down 7:05 [2] 1.12 km (6:19 / km) +16m 5:54 / km

Running 42:06 [2] 5.4 km (7:48 / km) +295m 6:07 / km

Chilled run up Rannerdale. Feeling good again :) When I arrived almost 2 months ago even the climb up Rannerdale felt a little bit of struggle and now it is very easy must be getting fitter.
