Running warm up/down 5:00 [2]

Orienteering (British Relay) 26:58 [5] 3.8 km (7:06 / km) +130m 6:04 / km

2nd leg on women's short. Quite a simple course. Went straight on the legs where there was an optional path route. No problems with any controls. Lost 10-15 secs on 11 near the end when there were people going in all directions. Pleased with my run. Team came 3rd.

Bit rushed as we got there a bit late.

Orienteering (British Long) 1:00:09 [4] 7.9 km (7:37 / km) +275m 6:29 / km

Winterfold. 3rd. Struggled to get into the map scale; number 1 seemed to go on forever then overshot number 2. Got better after that. Got a bit confused on the way to 6 but it was OK. 8 was the long leg. Still not sure what the optimum route was for this leg, will be interesting to compare on routegadget. Stopped a bit early on 10 but not much time lost. Overall, pretty pleased with how I managed the hills - Jackie's tip about not running on your toes certainly makes a difference!
