Orienteering (Chiltern Challenge) 59:20 [4] 8.07 km (7:21 / km) +199m 6:33 / km

Christmas Common. Horrible day - I wimped out and wore my lightweight cagoule and gloves. Aim was to put into practise what we had been focussing on last weekend (routechoice and bearings). This went pretty well although I was a little low on 8 (+30secs), and somehow lost 30secs on 9 too, although I think this was due to my being overcautious running down a steep slope, after having a pretty nasty fall last weekend. Lost almost a minute on 13 from just not paying attention. The rest of the course went fine until when running up the last hill both my achilles stiffened up to the extent that I couldn't run properly. Didn't want to do any further damage so walked the last 5 controls which was annoying as otherwise it had been going pretty well, and it probably lost me about 3mins. Glad I had my coat or I would have frozen at the end.

Steady run, pretty wet, and went up to my knees in water in places.

Intended to do 4x5mins but the last one was shorter as I got home quicker than expected. 1min recoveries.
