Note

Today I had a mental battle with myself whether to double so I could hit 90 miles for the week or rest as I feel close to getting a cold and I’m a bit tired in general. Sensible Dane won.

Run on the frozen Rio. Very slow bashing snow. Got to the rail yard before the ice cracked on us. Luckily the river was only ankle deep there. Turned around and went the other way but the snowmobile tracks ended and the snow bashing got too sapping so finished on the dykes.

Peacock Loop with Jackson and Joey. Bit snowy out by railroads leading to a dip in pace. No pick up like last week as I want to keep the mileage a bit lower and still feeling yesterday a bit. Left calf/Achilles tight again after track like last week so will focus on rolling it out.

Found this session quite hard, especially compared to similar sessions done back in Sheff but I think this is what I need at the moment as I’m running well on longer reps and tempos. Lactic hit hard in the 4th Set. Guess I’m nowhere near recovered from the 20 on Sunday either.

Big fat dirty stinking 20

The dirt roads were mostly clear so didn’t have to do the out and back. Quite snowy from 9-11 miles though which really messed with my flow and mental state. Finished strong though. Last proper long run for a couple of weeks.
