two minutes faster than last time two years ago. very dry trails and ideal conditions. very enjoyable course but can be demanding technically to race so more effort establishing a position at the start should set you up for the run. hoping to sustain this effort for twice the distance next week. hope to settle on a plan for the next 7 days. may or may not include tollymore Hill & Dale.

plan for a cautious start flew out the window on first slight downhill where I thought pace was too slow. eased back on the first climb and then kept comfortable in the top 20 and pushed on in the last downhill stretch to try to catch 16 and 15th places. good to get a short and sharp race in.
