a great day out at Tollymore. Brilliant atmosphere and with 4 distances on offer something for every type of runner.
any of the distances would've appealed as it was going to be enjoyable tearing up the trails. Aimed for achieving at least a sub 3:30 finish and hoped to run a best case scenario of an even split with a 3:10 goal.
So was happy and comfortable going through halfway in 1:36 but I couldn't maintain the same uphill pace as the first lap (where I had deliberately eased off) which was disappointing. This contributed to a postive split of nearly 15mins which isn't great and cost placings. Enjoyed fighting through the heavy rain showers on the first lap but did feel cold at times on the second.
and definitely was too cold for a recovery jog but did just manage to change out of wet gear into warm clothes for a bit of a walk.
