first ever outing to the Glenariff Mountain Race to collect my bag of potatoes!
beautiful spring day up in the glens and perfect conditions for a hill run. kept to the tactic of enjoying the run and not racing too much! it's very difficult to hold back on the first two miles but kept behind the pack. took it very easy up and down the hill and then chased down a few runners on way back home before heading back to work

Running warm up/down (Glenariff Mtn Spud Race) 5:32 [2] 0.3 km (18:27 / km)

frustration, blood tests suggest complete rest may be required for a while. personally I feel fine but the paranoia of maybe I'm not is quite powerful

Running warm up/down (Craigavon Lakes) 15:00 [2] 2.0 km (7:30 / km) +10m 7:19 / km
shoes: Brooks Ghost 5

Stroke Association Resolution Run 10k
oh, and an unintentional garmin free day
11 AM

Running tempo (Craigavon Lakes ) 37:20 [4] 10.0 km (3:44 / km) +30m 3:41 / km
shoes: Brooks Ghost 5

with no garmin i wanted to try to keep a steady tempo/threshold pace running on feel. a two lap course helped with this as i could see my 5k time. and my second lap was only a few seconds slower which was good considering I was out on my own and then lapping the 5k walkers/fun runners
a good charity event, with a great mixture of participants with a friendly atmosphere

Running warm up/down 15:00 [1] 2.0 km (7:30 / km)
shoes: Brooks Ghost 5

not the best warm down before driving on to Florencecourt
1 PM

Running warm up/down (Florencecourt NICS #1) 15:00 [2] 2.0 km (7:30 / km) +20m 7:09 / km
shoes: Mudclaw 272

jog out to the start on heavy legs

Orienteering race (Florencecourt NICS #1) 1:26:11 [3] *** 9.0 km (9:35 / km) +200m 8:37 / km
spiked:14/18c shoes: Mudclaw 272

kept a steady pace throughout, four big errors due to lack of concentration - losing contact with the map and tiredness. no watch/garmin meant no urgency so just enjoyed my time in the terrain never putting myself under any pressure
3 PM

Running warm up/down 10:00 [1] 0.5 km (20:00 / km)
shoes: Mudclaw 272
