Orienteering race (Queens Elm Village) 19:45 [4] **** 3.5 km (5:39 / km) +14m 5:32 / km
spiked:20/23c shoes: Saucony Progrid Jazz 14

first 12 controls were relatively error free
made a terrible start to the second map losing alot of time on the first two controls (13 & 14) then took a couple of "risks" on the route choice for a few of the controls (the 55/45 options i guess) a couple seemed to work but a couple were badly executed and didn't (19 & 22 - i think, were just rubbish)
the legs felt fine but i felt very warm
4 PM

Orienteering race (Stranmillis University) 21:06 [4] *** 3.88 km (5:26 / km) +175m 4:26 / km
spiked:15/18c shoes: Saucony Progrid Jazz 14

it was good to be waiting in the shade before starting but i reckon if i had closed my eyes i could've dozed off.
I don't know if i improved my overall standing for the afternoon, i wasn't going to be able to chase down conor & kieran would definitely be able to catch me so i just wanted to get around.
definitely messed up the route from 5 to 6, and the dual control 12/18 both times!!
i'm a little surprised by the garmin climb for this. but happy with my pace.

spiked:16/16c shoes: Saucony Progrid Jazz 14

LVO WEE 12
a straightforward park sprint. several basic route choices available (go left or go right) but whichever way - just go flat out. on dry ground this could've been a 15min course. should've got into the map & my stride quicker to start. dropped a few seconds here and there which when added together put me behind billy by 63 seconds. but no real errors just a lack of traction at times. Will give the Sprint courses a go on Saturday after the Rostrevor race.

Orienteering warm up/down (Orangefield & Greenville) 2:11 [2] 0.33 km (6:37 / km)
shoes: Saucony Progrid Jazz 14

just to take it over the 20mins!
