Same as last week but could've done 8 repeats.
Stopped at 7 as I thought everyone else had gone home but turned out I'd nearly lapped the tail runners. Session was 7 x 3min hills or 21min climb effort. Think I was marginally faster or took less recovery. Either way I was 2mins faster than last week and felt recovered from Annalong.

Plan was to hold back and get through halfway in 1:30:00 which was fine. Took a gel between 9 and 10 miles. Antrim road climb slowed the pace and the descent was jarring but took a caffeinated gel before the relay checkpoint for a needed boost and paced well along the Belfast loughshore and through Duncrue. 3rd gel taken before final relay handover and 4th at 23(parkrun to go)miles. No water taken at all. Perfect conditions for Belfast (dry, sunny with breeze, tailwind on Sydenham Bypass, nothing along loughshore and plenty of vocal support along the whole route). Enjoyed running without pressure and didn't notice the lack of training miles. 3 hour pacers sped off at the start and were nowhere to be seen which may have been a blessing in disguise. Want to run Dublin again four years on from last time. It's the Sunday after Mourne Skyline MTR so it'll be good to have two Autumn target races! Sub 5 at Newcastle and sub 3 at Dublin?!
