Lacock Relay - Leg 1

Tried not to push it too hard, reasonably happy with time given last few weeks and no speed work whatsoever

Team came first, so won a bottle of beer and packet of peanuts.... thanks to a speedy 12-year old lad and an evergreen Zina Marchant (aged 64!!)

Visiting historic buildings and lovely parts of West Wiltshire (and Somerset)

Started from Bradford on Avon Tithe Barn car park - Barton Farm to Avoncliff, along River Frome to Freshford, Friary Woods and the lovely sleepy hamlet (does 3 houses make a hamlet?) of Friary, Iford Manor, Farleigh Hungerford Castle, Westwood Manor and back to canal and Tithe Barn

Lovely scenic run on some good paths

Standard 6m Castle Combe Loop

What a difference a day makes - felt reasonably sprightly, hills felt relatively easy...... probably had something to do with getting drenched which was actually very refreshing
