Orienteering race 22:56 [4] *** 2.5 km (9:10 / km) +35m 8:34 / km
ahr:156 max:168 spiked:11/13c shoes: VJ Spikes 1

College Woods - Sprint1
GPS Distance Covered 2.87 km

Was pretty clean throughout - a couple minor bobble or routes where an alternate might have been a bit faster.

Behind JJ and Ben Parsons, beat Tim P and Alar, which felt pretty good.

Orienteering race 26:07 [4] *** 2.8 km (9:20 / km) +60m 8:25 / km
ahr:159 max:171 spiked:11/13c shoes: VJ Spikes 1

College Woods Sprint 2
GPS distance covered - 3.2 km
Not as nice - started by leaving the start 180 out, which cost me a few seconds.
Felt slower and less focused. Another bobble when I went too low to #9 - went past it to the lower trail junction and had to circle back and climb. Looks like it cost me 1:20 and an extra 100 m +.

Visibility was pretty good - only a few bugs.

Ernst made good use fo the area - can't remember how many times I've run here - can still be challenging.

Running portions of the Billygoat - it's going to be great!
Tremendous variations in the terrain and vegetation. Some good route choice and skip options, in my humble opinion.
Hope we don't get a lot more leaf in over the next week, might make a difference on a few legs.
Temps were mid 60s, gentle breeze. Wasn't pushing hard - felt OK throughout. Bobbled a few controls - hard looking for streamers rather than control flags. Also had only been to a couple of these locations in the evening with waning light and had a distorted picture in my mind - not an issue if you've never been there before...

A tough week with the flu pandemic - responsible for managing large scale incidents like this for the bank - always a few individuals who want to get hysterical....
