itband was flaring up again. arghh! will lay off running for the next couple of days to give it time to heal.
got on the treadmill and stairmaster for some active recovery. 30min fast walk w/ elevation and then 30min on the stairmaster, level 9. Estimated distance.

the heat finally let up a bit this weekend. we got up early and went for a barefoot run on wet sand at the usual spot at Huntington Beach. the tide was super low and the surfs were tiny. that didn't stop the surfers from coming out though. fought heavy head winds on the way out, felt like i was pulling a 30 lbs potato bag. and of course, as they said, "what goes around comes around", that same wind made the run back seemed effortless. what a great way to start the day!
