SNOWBOARD (mammoth) 3:00:00 [3]

another crazy fun day on the slopes, snow kept falling through the night and to our surprise, all day today! visibility was much better and the wind died down too. herds of people started to roll in and we tried to avoid them by going on any lift we could find where the lines were relatively short. the lumping wet snow made for an excellent workout, loved it! we met up with Ivan, Naomi, and David after lunch and charged hard some more, hung out at chair 12 and 13 for a few runs and then headed over to chair 14 and this was where we made a wrong turn trying to find tree runs. we had to hike out in thigh deep snow to make our way back to the lift. i hope to remember moments like this for a very long time.

SNOWBOARD (mammoth) 3:00:00 [3]

drove up last night to a sleepy town with only a thin blanket of snow on the ground and woke up to pure whiteness. The snow kept falling all day and all night. we could hardly contain our excitement. snow was wet and heavy but we'll take it. upper gondola, chair 23, chair 14, and chair 9 were closed but pretty much the rest was opened. the lift lines weren't too bad and we kept at it continuously, G, Randy, Rick and I, non-stop, from 9am to when the lifts closed. what a glorious day and a great start to a fun and adventurous weekend. we ran into some pretty bad whiteout conditions around 3pm. it was sooo bad we all got separated. Randy and I found each other and tried twice but couldn't find our way down to Canyon. I got pretty bad motion sickness and had to sit out at Mill by the time we got there. Eventually, we were joined by G, and together we took the long way home, parking bus back to Main Lodge, then bus to the village, then another to condo.
