first long run in a very long time and definitely felt it too. the first 5mi went pretty good, average pace around 8:31min/mile. the second half was crappy and that's putting it mildly. had to stop 4 times. ran out of gas. HR was high. time did not include rests. had minimal shin splints pain on left leg, yay!

spin session w/ sarah; speed, intervals, climb, and repeat. half way through and my quads and hamstrings were already screaming.

i'm wary about the continuing shin splints on left leg. just wanted to make sure there was proper warm up. walked 10min, ran slow for another 20min, then increased to 7mph for the next 25min. walked another 10min to cool down. time/distance did not include walks.

initially planned to swim but pool was full. saw there was a spin class in 10min, perfect timing. the instructor had us working hard. was completely drenched and beat by the end, not a single dry spot on shirt or shorts.

legs were very heavy and shin splint was acting up again on left leg. dialed it down to a slow run and stopped at 30min, was planning on an hour.
