started mileage from trail head, not parking lot. we started early in the morning (7ish), ran into some parking and communication issues but was able to regroup soon after. G bought new shoes and forgot to screw in the SPDs, had to drop out pretty early on, down to the 3 of us. half way into the ride, rick realized his rear brake pads were completely worn, there was nothing left. he kept going anyways, what a trooper. and why not? it was an awesome day. we rode under the morning overcast for over an hour and when the sun did break through, the breezes kept us nice and cool. fun ride, love all the singletracks and switchbacks. brought along a bottle of vitargo. this stuff was like magic.

intervals: 10min warm up, 2x3min @ 7.3mph w/ 2min taper, 1x3min @ 7.4mph w/ 2min taper, and 1x5min @ 7.5mph. time does not include cool down. felt soooo much better on this run than last week's.

still had shin splint on left leg but it went away after warm up. tempo run, 20min warm up, ~30min @ 7.0mph. lungs felt big on this run, recovered quickly.
