RUN (huntington beach) 37:24 [3] 4.45 mi (8:24 / mi) +55ft 8:18 / mi

almost gave up on this run, could not find parking b/c of HB surf marathon. finally got a spot, thank goodness! it was an amazing day, perfect 10, super low tide. we hid our shoes in the sand and started the jog barefoot on the beach, with lapping water on our feet to keep us cool. i couldn't wipe the smile off my face, seriously. life is sooo darn good. legs were light and strong. i kept up what i thought was a comfortable pace and later found out it was my fastest run for this route. afterwards, we hung out at the beach, did 3 sets of 20 push ups, picked shells, and got our calves wet playing in the water. thought about skipping the superbowl party and just hung out at the beach.

MOUNTAIN BIKING (santiago oaks/weir canyon) 1:55:47 [3] 12.0 mi (6.2 mph) +1400ft
ahr:120 max:154 shoes: santa cruz blur

we set out to ride santiago oaks but got lost in weir canyon for a little while, not knowing it was closed to the public. this was the first time i rode santiago since all the new trails in the back opened up after the fire. love the singletracks and switchbacks. we need to come back soon, lots to explore. didn't get in much climb but lots of fun loops on singletracks.

quads were still tired from that thurs zone progressing workout, believe it or not. the spin helped a lot. felt much better afterwards.

RUN (24hr metro) 30:00 [3] 3.27 mi (9:10 / mi) +172ft 8:44 / mi
shoes: brooks adrenaline

left leg was better on this run but not there yet. going to keep the mileage low and pace slow for the next week and see what happens. definitely felt yesterday's workout, especially on the quads.

CYCLING/SPIN (24hr metro) 1:00:00 [3] 18.0 mi (18.0 mph)

put in strong efforts on intervals today, had no problem bringing HR up to 150's, even to low 160's a couple of times. quads were burning.

- left quad cramped up @ the end of class. was trying to raise leg onto handlebar to stretch hammies. took a while to loosen it enough to walk out of class. need to get me a foam roller.

RUN (24hr metro) 15:00 [3] 1.63 mi (9:12 / mi) +135ft 8:32 / mi
shoes: brooks adrenaline

warm up for spin. legs were heavy, very disappointed, not sure what was going on. should i lay off running for a couple of days to give them some rest?

CYCLING/SPIN (24hr metro) 1:00:00 [3] 18.0 mi (18.0 mph)

intervals as usual. class was on the annoying side. she kept saying "so sorry" about a thousand times and music transitions were very abrupt.

RUN (24hr metro) 30:00 [3] 3.26 mi (9:12 / mi) +170ft 8:46 / mi
shoes: brooks adrenaline

ran warm up pace on the treadie. this run didn't go so well. started to feel some pain again on left leg shortly after mile 1. carried on for another mile and decided to walk it off for 10min. then tried to pick it up to a run but pain remained so stopped after 10min. time/distance did not include walk.

20 run, 10 walk, 10 run

STRETCH (24hr metro) 10:00 [1]
