started out with a 5min walk, then i increased the speed to 6.5mph, tried to slowly warm up for the shin splints. got around to mile 1.7 and someone stepped on my treadmill which caused it to stop. he didn't even know he did it. he was helping his wife start hers and he placed a foot on mine in order to reach some buttons. argh! i had to start all over again. oh well, call it a good warm up.

felt pretty good on this run. shin splints went away after warm up.

the sky was super cloudy with crazy wind today. i brought a pair of paddles and they flew off the deck at least 3 times. as i swam, i could see the palm trees swaying, flags flapping and flying, heard howling winds, all the while, water was warm and calm underneath. what a cool feeling. waited for the rain to come but it never did.

irvine ranch conservatory opened up bommer canyon for a day so we all took advantage of it. hadn't ridden with the gang for a very very long time, much overdue! i followed the pack and didn't pay attention to the trails but we did venture over to the nix center and then laguna wilderness before heading back to bommer canyon. had so much fun, found some really awesome singletrack, "rabbit run" and others, great times!

met up with lois early in the morning for a moderate/easy ride on the mountain bike starting from the backbay to shady canyon and back around the backbay. she introduced me to some bike paths i've never known were there. good times, catching up with one another. we'll try to do this once a week.

body is sore from weight lifting yesterday and right shin has not fully recovered from sunday's run. i just wanted to do an easy jog @ 1% incline on the treadie to shake out the legs. the first mile was very uncomfortable but it got better and better the 2nd half of the run.

have been limping since yesterday's run. shin's acting up. walked for 10min on the treadie with 3% incline, tried to loosen up.
