MOUNTAIN BIKING (harding truck trail) 2:52:42 [3] 17.1 mi (5.9 mph) +3374ft
shoes: santa cruz blur

we had a huge group today, 11 of us, slowly worked our way up to 4 corners via HTT, starting at 8:30am. rick and maurice dropped us pretty quick at the beginning, they wanted to go down joplin to make it a loop. Maureen and Linh turned around at about mile 6. it was super cold, there were patches of ice pass the 6th mile mark. the trail was tacky due last night's rain, making it harder to climb. G opted to hang around with us instead of joining the boys for the joplin route. good decision, his chain broke twice, once near the top, and once on the way down. he ended up coasting for the last 7 miles or so.

the climb today was hard. i just couldn't wam up even with 3 layers of clothes on. toes and fingers were frozen. legs felt heavy. they shook non-stop on the way down, making it difficult to balance.
